The lights are low when you walk in. All the women look your way, so it seems like the spotlight is on you as soon as you walk through the door. These aren't your typical club going females. While they are sizing you up, they are also entertaining the rest of the gentlemen in the club with their tantalizing moves and seductive sways. The soft, exposed body parts that capture your psyche are just more weapons in their arsenal to keep you inside and spending all of your money.

Every man, whether shy and timid or loud and spontaneous, has a place in the strip club. The women who work there are trained to be that top notch mistress for every man that walks in. And if they do it well, the financial reward will make a nun second guess her occupation.

But not all women can handle this responsibility. It takes practice. It takes dedication and long uncomfortable hours. They will change as a person before the day is done, that's for sure.

Just like any other industry or sport, you have the icons; the individuals that set trends, stay popular, and define the rules. These people are sought out and respected when it comes to their expertise. Please believe that the Miami's strip club scene has its own.

Ms. Porschea, known in the streets as the go-to girl for the strip clubs, has been working the pole since the late '80s and is now coordinating the clubs and mentoring new dancers who are trying to come up in the game. She holds no punches, and loves the life she has chosen with no regrets. She knows what she's talking about because she has the mental and physical scars to prove it.

So we asked Ms. Porschea the basics of the business (from the dancer's perspective), and she was happy to start with the rules of the game. Follow these rules ladies and you just might win, she promises.

Rule 1. Don't take any man in the club personal - Porschea assures you that you are going to be touched the wrong way, talked to like shit and harassed by men in the club. Like the rule states, never get out of character when this happens.

Rule 2. Be a lady at all times - "In all situations, you are a lady. And that's what these men are here for." Porschea reminds the girls that their nature as a woman is their best commodity.

Rule 3. Be appropriate: Smell good, look good, walk sexy and conduct yourself as top notch - "When it comes down to it, this is how the men are choosing who to spend money on. So you gotta make sure that you take care of yourself; do the facials, manicures, get to the gym, eat right."

Rule 4. Don't hate on another dancer - Plain and simple. "Get your money and don't worry about the next female."

Rule 5. There are no rules - At the end of the day you gotta deal with you. So Porschea tells her recruits to live life to the fullest and don't regret anything. Set your own rules to live by.

Rule 6. Release the beast - We are all animals in some way or another and the stripper can reveal this through her personality and drive. Porschea says, "Be hungry. Go out there and get your money then release that animal on him - that aggressive part of you that is undeniable."

Rule 7. Promote Yourself - Porschea's last and most important rule is self explanatory but, according to her, is often disregarded. "Ladies you are freelancers in this game. No matter where you go, promote yourself. If you're in Atlanta, another club, or networking, promote yourself and make good things happen for you."

So it seems simple enough. But, Porschea reminds you that not all women make it in this game. According to her, girls who come looking to dance are already ready, they just need a little guidance.

"Girls these days are different though. Now they like the guy. Some of them get caught up in the movie - letting their eyes fool them with the material things. If you go home with a man, and leave with $2 in your pocket, you a straight fool."

Ms. Porschea is not trying to steer the ladies wrong. In the strip game since 1989, working at spots like The Mint, Rolexx, and Coco's, Porschea has muscular calves and calloused heels from the stage life and all the young girls know and respect this. She admits that she would have liked to try other things in life, but she's never, ever had regrets. She always starts her nights off with a prayer, so she says because of that, and prayers from her family and friends, she's been blessed and successful in this game.

"Only a few make it. You gotta know who you are doing this for and be a strong woman. Praying, saving your money, going somewhere you've never been before. That is what will keep you going and make your career successful."

As the Club Coordinator for Take One Lounge and right hand to the owner, Ms. Porschea is always on the go, making sure the club is running smoothly and the ladies have everything they need to do their job.

"We have young, beautiful ladies at Take One, sexy ladies. They need to be treated as such and here at Take One, we take care of our ladies."
