It has been almost 15 years since “A Different World” brought us a group of college students addressing issues. Matriculation – Higher Learning shows how the new generation of college students deals with prevalent issues. This is a weekly television drama series that combines “A Different World”, “One Tree Hill” and “Beverly Hills, 90210” with “Higher Learning”.
The show revolves around 10 freshman college students attending school in Hotlanta. See how privilege, prestige, ambition, money and expectations affect the decisions, create conflict and produce consequences in young lives.
Executive Producers:
Angelo Taylor – Taylor’s career has been a remarkable study in versatility and longevity. After a period of time at the turn of the century as the world’s best 400m hurdler. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China, Taylor became a double Olympic champion, winning gold in the 400 meter hurdles and the 4×400 m relay.- Derek Wilham – graduated from Vanderbilt University with a BA in Human and Organizational Development. After producing, acting and directing in his family’s theater company, he joined forces partnering in P.R.I.D.E. LLC with Ronald Lee in February 2010. Derek began a non-profit organization in 2010 called Custom Instructions which focuses on developing a personalized approach to leadership for all ages. He is involved in motivational speaking and teaches public speaking to individuals and groups.
- Ronald Lee – graduated from Miles College in with a BA in Mass Communications. Ronald created the Storyline for “Higher Learning” now renamed Matriculation in 1997. His inspiration for creating the show was, to create a show that portrayed African Americans on prime time television in a positive light while promoting the importance of education, especially at a Historical Black College and University. In 2009 Ronald created P.R.I.D.E. Producing Rare Innovative Distinct Entertainment. I created P.R.I.D.E. to produce innovative entertainment staring African Americans
