Tailor Made

This Valentine’s Day you should focus on supporting one another’s fitness goals with a romantic twist. The theme of getting active together means taking the opportunity to get connected with a romantic outing. Make arrangements so that you can go on a long stroll while holding hands. Another idea is a nice bike ride along some paved trails. You can also pack a picnic basket in order to stop along the way for a romantic picnic lunch. Other ideas include a couple’s massage, going on hiking trails or helping each other with partner stretching. All of these ideas are great for creating closeness and a chance to connect or reconnect with the one you love!
I know there are a lot of treats associated with Valentine’s Day. Boxes of chocolates, cookies, cakes and candies are among the most popular. If you want a way to cut the calories and sugar this year, try some healthier alternatives. Edible fruit bouquets are an excellent alternative to candy. You may also want to consider heart shaped baked goods like muffins or banana bread and if you want to add chocolate to one of your dishes group, try using carob chips as a substitute for chocolate.
While these can be some fun, health conscious ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day, if you are interested in making changes in lifestyle and diet, you should consider keeping a journal. Journals are a great way to keep track of how good or bad you have been. If you are being honest with yourself, a journal will help you track patterns in the habits you want to change, which will facilitate finding healthy alternatives.

So what you haven’t met all your fitness goals. Valentine’s is a time to go all out! The point is that you want to do something that makes you feel sexy and makes you look sexy to him or her. You’ve made all these resolutions, but you haven’t made a lot of progress. Don’t worry about that, you can still make a sexy impression on your significant other. After all, you are the one they chose; you just have to make them remember why.
Ladies remember what heels and lingerie do for your legs and other areas, but most of all know how it makes him feel. I know heels are not always comfortable, but if you do this right, trust me, you won’t be in them long. If you’re not into heels and lingerie, then find that thing that makes you feel sexy and will allow you to make him feel the same way. And by all means, don’t forget the fragrance, hair, and makeup. This is the time to tantalize all the senses. I’ve given you two; you can work out the rest. Touch, Taste and Feel are up to you.

This year when contemplating your “get fit” goals, try doing things a little differently. Approaching your goal realistically will mean assessing your current situation with regard to your goals. Let’s consider the ever popular “I want to lose 50 pounds” goal. Don’t set yourself up to be frustrated after two or three weeks when all you’re focused on is those 50 pounds. Lack of planning will be the demise of a majority of newly implemented fitness programs, so don’t be a victim. Your ultimate goal will have to be broken down into smaller, more easily attainable, short-term goals. These smaller goals, when totaled, will contribute to you meeting your ultimate goal and possibly more, over a certain time period, depending on your level of dedication. Planning will include understanding what is needed to meet your goals.
Examples of questions to ask include:
- How long should I exercise per day?
- How many days per week?
- What types of exercises?
- How hard should I exercise?
- What is the best indicator to gauge my progress?
- What kind of short-term results should I expect?
- What changes should I make to my diet?
These are all reasonable questions to ask for a program you want to start or even a program you want to change. If you are serious about getting results, you need to arm yourself with the information that will help you make the changes.
Best of luck in all your fitness endeavors!
